James Geter, Shield Protective Services CEO and Director of Acquisitions, is also the Founder, School Director and NYS Credentialed Instructor of S&S Security Training and Services, LLC. Mr. Geter has over 44 years of security and over 20 years of law enforcement experience. As a veteran police officer, he was promoted to Senior Field Training Officer (FTO). His responsibilities included training probationary officers coming out of the academy and making sure that they were ready for the field. His last detail was responding to September 11th, 2001 transporting manpower and securing many tactical positions. He also was assigned to supervise the Makeshift Morgue at 26th/27th Street and 1st Ave, where he oversaw search and recovery for dangerous weapons.

 

Mr. Geter has been employed as executive protection for numerous high-profile clients.  He has worked retail, commercial, residential and entertainment both as an armed and unarmed security officer. He also served as a clinical counselor for the Queens Supreme Court under the Treatment Alternative to Street Crime (TASC) and the Queens Village Committee for Mental Health-JCAP combating addiction, felonious recidivism and mental health issues. Here Mr. Geter was assigned the largest caseload of court mandated and voluntary individuals.

 

Mr. Geter received his education from Medgar Evers College for Urban Studies/Liberal Arts, studied Security Management at Pace University and Criminal Justice at John Jay School for Criminal Justice and continues to study, learn and grow academically.
